| Report:
The plan was for all five players to play one another on a
league table basis over 12 ends. As it happened
one player failed to arrive so all games were extended to 15
ends. The first game saw the youngest player, Jack Rollings play against John Burton Gow and was a real close game throughout. John eventually won 14-12. The second game saw Jack's sister Charlotte Rollings play Matt Allen. For the first seven ends Charlotte held her own again one of our Premier team bowlers but Matt gradually pulled farther away to win 16-10. Charlotte then played John and after scoring a three on the first end was never really in the game after that, eventually losing 4-20. Jack then played Matt and again managed to win the first end and to stay in contention right through until the 5/6 end, but it was downhill from there and he eventually ended up losing 6-16. The final two games saw brother play sister for the lesser places and this was a really close game at 14-15 on the 14th end. Charlotte scored a further 2 on the final end to win 17-14. The deciding game was Matt against John and this started badly for John as he dropped a four on the first end. Both players killed one end midway through the game but John was always fighting a losing battle and eventually Matt ran out a worthy winner 18-6. At present it is not known how many placed this county will be allocated at the Nationals but Matt Allen will certainly be one of our representatives, with John followed by Charlotte and Jack waiting to see if we get allocated more than one place. |
